Branislav Tubić
Branislav Tubic, the artistic leader of the ROGALJ Folk Orchestra, was born in Novi Sad in 1977. He has been involved in music since he was 8, when he enrolled in lower music school and decided to study the accordion in the class of professor Istvan Sabo. After finishing lower music school, he completed high school at "Isidor Bajic" music school, as well as the Academy of Art in Novi Sad in the department of General Music Education. He has been involved in folk music since his early youth, playing the accordion right from the very beginning. During high school he was an active member of the "Svetozar Markovic" Cultural and Artistic Society (KUD) from Novi Sad, where he also distinguished himself as an artistic leader. During his studies he began to actively participate in festivals of Vojvodinian music as a composer and arranger. Standing out are: 1st place from the technical jury for the composition 'Vojvodina u srcu te nosim' at the "Zlatna tamburica" festival in 2002, 2nd place from the technical jury, as well as the people's prize for the song 'Hej salasi' at the "Mitrovacka pesma" in 2003. He is the founder of the ROGALJ Folk Orchestra where he plays the accordion as part of the ensemble, and is also a soloist of the orchestra. As well as this, he also plays other instruments, such as the piano and guitar. Along with these instruments, he also fosters a special love for folk instruments - the frula (a type of flute) and the tamburitza, which he also plays. Other than his creative work in the scope of folk music, which he most often is involved in, Branislav Tubic has written compositions and arrangements for other genres of music such as: tamburitza, children's, classical chamber music, military and choir. Up to now in his work he has collaborated with eminent vocal soloists such as: Predrag Cune Gojkovic, the duet Selimova-Zelceski, Ljubisa Krnic, Tanja Obrenovic, Miodrag Misa Blizanac, Aleksandra Padrov, Slavko Nasigacin and others.
