Aleksandra Mandzo was born in 1976 in Belgrade, where she also finished "Mokranjac" lower and higher music school.
She showed an interest in folk music at a early age, beside her father who played the accordion. Later on, she started learning folk music from concertmaster Momcilo Stanojevic of the RTB Folk Orchestra.
She received numerous awards at the "Carevcevi dani" festival, among which was first place in 2004, four second place prizes and one for song interpretation. Since 2003 she has performed with the Misa Mijatovic Orchestra, with whom she worked on the series "Jedna pesma, jedna zelja", backing up our most distinguished performers of folk music.
She has been a member of Novi Sad's ROGALJ Folk Orchestra since its founding.
